Melissa Hill • English
Ms. Hill is the school newsletter coordinator and English Department Chair at South Ridge High School. As well as teaching 9th grade, Junior Honors, and Advanced Placement English courses, Ms. Hill also dedicates time to serving as the Junior Statesmen of America faculty advisor and coordinating our quarterly school newsletter. Prior to teaching at SRHS, she was the guidance counselor, curriculum coach, AIMS testing coordinator, and English instructor at Apache Trail High School in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Ms. Hill is a published and produced playwright. Her debut New York production went up the week of 9/11, 2001, at Manhattan Theatre Source. Amazingly, actors performed to a full house. Upon receiving her B.A. in English from Western Michigan University, she moved to Arizona to receive an M.F.A. in creative writing from A.S.U. She enjoyed the warm winters so much that she decided to stay.
