ELAS - English Language Acquisition Services
Arizona law requires that students with a home language other than English be assessed for proficiency in oral language, reading comprehension and written communication. Based on the results of the assessment, students may be placed in the English Language Development program designed to aid them in acquiring English.
Mrs. Galache is the ELL Teacher and Facilitator at South Ridge High School. Together with Mrs. Randall, ELL Coordinator, they have a phenomenal record of preparing our ELL students for successfully passing the AZELLA test. All testing students are required to attend a one week AZELLA workshop to review listening, grammar reading and writing skills. The data below is proof of our students’ and facilitators’ dedication.
